Description

The BFT Maxima Ultra 36 XL is a high-performance automatic traffic barrier designed for busy commercial and industrial entrances, car parks, logistics centres and controlled vehicle access points.

Designed for installations requiring a boom length of up to 6 metres, the Maxima Ultra 36 XL features a reinforced barrier mechanism capable of accommodating additional boom accessories, including swinging support legs and lower skirts.

The barrier uses a three-phase asynchronous motor with an integrated inverter, operating from a 230V single-phase power supply. Its oil-bath gearbox and mechanical crankshaft system provide smooth, controlled movement, with adjustable opening and closing speeds and slowdown at the end of travel.

The integrated control panel incorporates BFT's advanced programming functions, obstacle detection and U-Link connectivity, allowing integration with compatible access control and parking management systems.

The XL version is particularly suited to wider entrances where a standard Maxima Ultra 36 may not support the required boom configuration.

Installer Note

The BFT Maxima Ultra 36 XL is designed for demanding commercial installations requiring a 6m barrier boom and additional support or boom accessories.

The XL version should be selected for configurations such as:

• 6m clear drive-through opening with swinging support leg.

• 5.5m or 6m clear drive-through opening with lower boom skirt.

• Wider openings requiring a combination of lower skirt and swinging support leg.

The standard Maxima Ultra 36 may be suitable for simpler 6m installations without these additional configurations.

Although the barrier incorporates a three-phase motor, it operates from a 230V single-phase mains supply through its integrated inverter. A separate three-phase mains supply is not required.

The barrier must be installed with suitable safety devices, vehicle detection and a site-specific risk assessment. The correct spring balancing and boom support arrangements must be selected for the final boom configuration.
