Description

The BFT Maxima Ultra 36 is a high-performance automatic traffic barrier designed for intensive use at commercial and industrial entrances, car parks, distribution centres and other busy vehicle access points.

Supplied with a 5 metre aluminium boom, the Maxima Ultra 36 provides a robust solution for controlling vehicle access across wider entrances. Its electromechanical drive incorporates a three-phase asynchronous motor with an integrated inverter, allowing operation from a 230V single-phase mains supply.

The oil-bath gearbox and connecting rod-crank mechanism provide smooth, controlled movement, with adjustable opening and closing speeds and slowdown at the end of travel. The mechanical drive arrangement also offers protection against forced boom movement.

The integrated BFT CSB Xtreme control panel supports U-Link connectivity for integration with compatible access control and parking management systems. Encoder-based obstacle detection and self-diagnostic functions assist with safe operation and maintenance.

Designed for very intensive use, the Maxima Ultra 36 is suitable for demanding commercial installations where reliable, frequent barrier operation is required.

Installer Note

The BFT Maxima Ultra 36 is designed for high-frequency commercial applications and can accommodate a 5m boom with suitable balancing and support arrangements.

Although the barrier uses a three-phase motor, the integrated inverter allows it to operate from a standard 230V single-phase mains supply. A separate three-phase electrical supply is not required.

The correct balancing spring and boom support arrangement must be selected according to the boom length and any additional accessories fitted.

Installation requires a suitable concrete foundation, appropriate electrical protection, vehicle detection and safety devices selected following a site-specific risk assessment.
