BFT Pillar B 800 x 275mm Hydraulic Rising Bollard – 10mm Skin, LED Lights, Fail Safe

The BFT Pillar B 800 is a heavy-duty automatic hydraulic rising bollard designed for controlling vehicle access at commercial, industrial and high-security premises.

Featuring an 800mm rising height, 275mm nominal diameter and reinforced 10mm thick steel shaft, this version provides increased resistance compared with the standard 6mm Pillar B. The bollard is finished in RAL 7015 painted steel and incorporates an LED light crown and reflective strip for improved visibility.

This is the fail-safe version, which automatically lowers in the event of a mains power failure, allowing vehicle access to be restored without manual intervention.

Designed for very intensive use, the Pillar B supports up to 3,000 operations per day and has a raising time of approximately 6.5 seconds. The hydraulic pump is positioned beneath the top flange to simplify servicing and maintenance.

The bollard is designed for use with a compatible BFT PERSEO control unit and can be incorporated into single or multiple-bollard vehicle access systems.

Installer Note

This is the 10mm fail-safe version of the BFT Pillar B 800. Unlike the fail-secure (SD) model, which remains raised during a power failure, this version automatically lowers to allow vehicle passage.

The bollard requires a suitable below-ground concrete foundation, drainage provision and compatible BFT PERSEO control unit.

The reinforced 10mm shaft offers increased impact and breaking resistance compared with the standard 6mm model. The published resistance figures should not be interpreted as confirmation of a particular crash-test certification without the relevant model-specific documentation.

Installation must include appropriate safety devices, traffic management arrangements and a site-specific risk assessment. Particular consideration should be given to pedestrian safety, vehicle detection and emergency access requirements.
